WANTED

As well as the players listed below, you may notice gaps on the Les Rosbifs list. If you are able to provide any information on the players listed here or on the list, I would be very grateful for it.

Time to update a section which has, in the past, been rather popular. I am looking for information as to the whereabouts of the following players, who may be playing abroad. If you have any information, please contact me by using the form at the bottom.

James Robinson – Putting aside the “Is he English or Austrlian?” argument for one moment, Robinson has disappeared off of the footballing planet since being released by North Queensland Fury in the summer of 2010. Previously he had played for Crewe Alexandra, IBV in Iceland, Altrincham, Accrington Stanley and Perth Glory but since his 13 appearances for the Fury, nothing.

Nicky Travis – Since being released by Central Coast Mariners in 2010, former Sheffield United midfielder Travis has been clubless. The last we heard was a failed trial at Siracusa in Italy.

Alex Harrison and Ben Clark - Both have been listed as being members of the Wilmington Hammerheads squad in USL2 in the past, but little information has been found about them.

Alex Kenyon - Teenager who went on trial with VfB Stuttgart from Lancaster City earlier in the summer of 2009. The result of this is unknown.

Ayo Akinsete - Possibly formerly of West Ham United (in their youth system), a promising college career ended up with indoor football with the Orlando Sharks. Now there is no sign of him. Having said that, those excellent people at the equally excellent Sport without Spin have tipped me off that he is also known by the name of Ayo Akins. It still appears he has left the Sharks and there is no club who are yet to sign him up. This is one to continue chasing.

Jonathan Melia - Stumbled across this chap whilst searching for information about Jamie Phoenix. Whilst looking up Maritimo in Portugal, I found Melia, who apparently is an English goalkeeper, playing for their ‘B’ team. There has been no word since January 2009.

Craig Deacon and Chris Cerroni - Are they playing? If so, at what level? They were last spotted waiting for indoor soccer to kick-off in the USA again.

FOUND:

Kyle Patterson - From training with David Beckham and the LA Galaxy to a trial with Hednesford Town in the space of 18 months. Patterson also played in the PDL for the Hollywood Hitmen in the USA, as well as a short spell with GAIS Gothenburg in Sweden. As we reported, Patterson also had a trial with Hednesford. Since then, he has enjoyed a very successful season with the club.

Josh Kennet - Kennet could still be with Maccabi Herzliya, although it had been reported in one or two sources that he had a loan spell with Hapoel Ben Leod earlier this year. He had a trial with Rushden and Diamonds of the Blue Square Premier and was on their books for the past season.

Jamie PhoenixAn old favourite here at Les Rosbifs. Since blowing two chances of a professional career in Albania, Phoenix has again disappeared off of the footballing map. Over the past few months, Phoenix has been in Albania (as a simple search on here will show). He finished the season with Northwich Victoria, including some very impressive performances.

Paul Taylor As we reported recently, Taylor didn’t return to training with Anderlecht. Nor did his club car. Now that the Belgian side look set to cut their losses, it is unclear where Taylor is. A Wikipedia entry cited he had a trial with Barnsley, but this is news to Anderlecht who, at the time, still hold his contract. Odd. Since the tail end of this season, Taylor was signed by Peterborough United. We wish him well.

Yan Klukowski - Having been in the USL earlier in 2009, Klukowski had been on trial at Carlisle United and Swindon Town last summer. Having scored goals at both, he wasn’t offer a contract with either. Suspected of playing some non-league football in England last season, Klukowski could possibly have gone back overseas but instead spent the year with his hometown club, Chippenham Town.
